Day Shift 

This 2022 movie has one of the top-ranking trailers. The story focuses on a hard-working, blue-collar father who aims to offer a good life for his intelligent 10-year-old daughter. His job and source of income are to clean the mundane San Fernando Valley pool. To pay the tuition fees, cover his debts, and purchase his daughter’s braces, Bud is forced to switch his profession to vampire hunting. One day, he destroys an unusual nest of vampires.  Audrey (another vampire) contacts Bud and threatens his family, revealing that the elderly vampire was her daughter. Bud rushes to his ex-wife to save her while being pursued by vampires but fails to get there in time.


Directed by Dan Trachtenberg, Prey revolves around the skilled warrior, Naru, who competes to protect her tribe against one of the killers of the Comanche Nation 300 years ago.


Nope is a horror movie written and directed by Jordan Peele. Featuring Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun, Michael Wincott, and Brandon Perea, it follows two siblings who try to capture evidence of an uncanny and chilling flying object.

The Gray Man 

Another on the list of latest thriller movies is “The Gray Man”. Anthony Russo and Joe Russo direct the film. It focuses on the CIA’s most skilled and mysterious operative who accidentally reveals the agency’s dark secrets. A psychopathic former colleague puts a bounty on his head, setting off a global chase by international assassins.

Orphan: First Kill 

This psychological horror film is the sequel to the 2009 film Orphan. Directed by William Brent Bell, the movie is based on an Estonian psychiatric patient with a rare syndrome that gives her the appearance of a child. It premiered first in the United States in August 2022. 

Bodies Bodies Bodies 

This is an American black comedy horror film directed by Halina Reijn. Written by Sarah DeLappe the script takes inspiration from a story by Kristen Roupenian. The film stars Amandla Stenberg, Maria Bakalova, Myha’la Herrold, Chase Sui Wonders, Rachel Sennott, Lee Pace, and Pete Davidson in lead roles.

The movie premiered in March 2022 and was released in the United States in August 2022. Bodies Bodies Bodies got positive reviews on humor, satire, and cast performances, Sennott’s in particular.

The story focuses on a group of rich 20-something kids who plan a party at a remote family mansion, where everything starts going wrong.

Vengeance (II) (2022)

Vengeance is a comedy- thriller film written and directed by B. J. Novak. Featuring Novak, Boyd Holbrook, Dove Cameron, Issa Rae, and Ashton Kutcher, the film premiered at the Tribeca Festival in June 2022. It received positive reviews from critics.

The movie focuses on a writer from New York City who tries to solve the murder mystery of a girl he hooked up with and investigate the circumstances of her death to discover what happened to her.


Directed by Scott Mann, “Fall” is one of the horror sub-genre films. The film has a clever concept, and avoiding anyone having the mildest vertigo or fear of heights is recommended. 

The story focuses on best friends Becky and Hunter, who believe life is all about conquering one’s fears and pushing limits. However, after they climb over 2,000 feet of a remote- abandoned radio tower, they find themselves stuck and fight badly to survive.


Directed by Rebekah McKendry, this horror thriller film features Ryan Kwanten and J. K. Simmons.

The movie focuses on Wes who has the symptoms of a hangover in a public bathroom. The film continues when Wes finds a mysterious figure speaking from an adjacent stall in the bathroom.

Rogue Agent (2022)

This is a British thriller film directed by Adam Patterson and Declan Lawn. Rogue Agent (2022) is based on the article “Chasing Agent Freegard”. James played the role of a con man who tricked and convinced several people that he was an MI5 agent. He also fooled people to go into hiding with him.


They/Them is an American slasher film written and directed by John Logan in his feature directorial debut and produced by Jason Blum. It features Theo Germaine, Carrie Preston, Anna Chlumsky, Austin Crute, Quei Tann, Anna Lore, Cooper Koch, Monique Kim, Darwin del Fabro, Hayley Griffith, Boone Platt, Mark Ashworth, and Kevin Bacon. 

The movie focuses on a group of teenagers at an LGBTQ+ conversion camp that uses upsetting psychological methods. This group is also being stalked by a mysterious masked killer.

The film premiered at the Outfest film festival on July 24, 2022, and received mixed reviews from critics, who praised its comprehensive cast and subject matter but found the story’s execution missing.d
